EMF
EMF
EMF is an abbreviation of electromagnetic field. Electromagnetism is a combination of a static electrical field and a moving magnetic field. There are perfectly explainable, mundane causes for sudden jumps in an EMF field, including electrical equipment. They are encountered in everyday life, anywhere there is electricity in use or near any object that has an electrical charge. Even the human body produces a weak EMF.
Higher EMF readings have been correlated to verifiably haunted locations. However, the reasons for this are unknown and , unfortunately, a correlation does not imply a cause and effect relationship.
Experiments conducted by Professor Michael Persinger suggest that when parts of the brain are exposed to electromagnetic fields, it can produce experiences similar to those associated with paranormal activity, including apparitions. He was able to recreate these experiences in a laboratory. This means that it is possible that higher than normal EMFs could cause people to experience a “haunting”.
This by no means explains all hauntings, or even all EMFs. Some EMFs have no explainable cause and appear to free- float like “cold spots”. A natural EMF (at least those we are familiar with) should not do this. EMFs have even been detected in places with no electricity.
The EMF phenomenon remains quite controversial and is still largely a mystery.
