Psychics

   As you may have noticed, D&A Paranormal Investigators does not use psychics on their investigations. The members of the group may have varying opinions on the validity of the claims of psychics, however, there are two indisputable truths which prevent D&A Paranormal Investigators from including them in their repertoire.

   The first is that, in the past, and in particular during the heydey of Spiritualism, so many charlatans have posed as psychics that the entire topic has an unsavory air about it. While there may in fact be those gifted, or cursed, with the ability to see beyond the normal, there is no way to prove their claims and, unfortunately, there are still many individuals out there who are sensing a promising stage act more than they are sensing a ghost.

   The second is that D&A Paranormal Investigators is looking for proof of the paranormal. Proof must be able to be reviewed by one’s peers. To include the impressions of psychics as “proof” of a haunting is not appropriate. Any proof which we collect must be able to be scrutinized. The impressions of a psychic do not lend themselves to such scrutiny and must therefore be omitted.
