The most common temperature devices used in paranormal investigations are infrared thermometers. These are great for taking temperatures at a distance, but they only take surface temperatures. Models that also have a probe can take ambient and surface temperatures.
We chose a dual temp infrared/ probe thermometer with a temperature range from
–67°F and 626°F and a field of view ratio of 1:1. It has a backlit LCD display.
